This was Led Zeppelin’s third album, all of which they released in just eighteen months which, bearing in mind the quality of all three albums, is an achievement unlikely ever to be equalled.  It went to number one within a week of release on both sides of the Atlantic, and is included in the 100 Greatest Albums Ever Made

It was forty years ago today … in the back of a Cadillac

This was the band’s first release after the death of lead singer Bon Scott.   By not departing too far from their normal style by recruiting Brian Johnson as his replacement, the band went on to even greater fame.
